Cool concept … record sleeves with only the living on them, the dead having been removed with some software or other … via http://liveiseedeadpeoples.tumblr.com/  [tnx4tip Eav!]

meet the new mose, same as the old mose

Media_httpwwwanticomd_jjecb

Those lyrics! That man! Mose Allison is an utter hero (not just of Pete Townshend), and he’s recorded a fantastic cover version of “My babe” for his superb new album “The Way Of The World” (Anti- 2010-03-22). A great sequel to Mr. Allison’s “My mind is on vacation”! (“My babe” was written by the legendary Willie Dixon; the original version was recorded by Little Walter in 1955, for Checker, a Chess subsidiary.)

powergazer threesome (with a psychedelic edge)

(I always get a bit of a “We don’t get fooled again” kick out of this intro. Ride were by far my fave band of the Creation stable, I’ll be getting back to them later. Hey and Swervedriver refer to the Who too in their ’92 shoegazer-goes-raga-jazz [around the 4’11” mark] tour-de-force … The Telescopes were more into the End or “We love you” era Rolling Stones recording the “Celeste” 12″ back in ’91, I guess, judging by that swooping, Wymanesque bassline.)
