O TannenbaumWyatt’s way ;-) Recorded Summer 1981, released 1982-03 on Nothing Can Stop Us(Rough Trade) … Robert Wyatt also wrote the liner notes for a 1991 compilation of ‘7Ts piano pieces by Cornelius Cardew which featured Red flag prelude(197X). Hey and can someone please add Mr. Wyatt‘s interpretation to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_Tannenbaum ?!? [Nope ain’t gonna do it myself.]

ivor cutler’s colours are brighter

The Ivor Cutler Trio off the Colours Are Brighter (Songs For Children And Grown Ups Too)v/a cd on Rough Trade (RTRADCD358, 2006-10-16). “All profits and artist royalties from this record are being donated to the Save the Children charity for their Rewrite the Future campaign.” Well, actually, “Mud” was first released on the Ludolp (Parlophone 1967, prod. George Martin) but a good cause deserves your attention anytime, no? Especially if it also features these fine tracks by Belle and Sebastian, and Jonathan Richman.

wyatt last free

Wyattjazz

“At last I am free” was orginally recorded & released by Chic in 1978. The first Robert Wyatt version dates from 1980 (7″ A side on Rough Trade, b/w “Strange fruit”). And now there’s a brand new version on a trio album … As for Wyatt‘s previous album, here’s Marcello Carlin’s opinion

anika ono

Another remarkable video (by Mintonfilm), though the music lags behind imho (leaning heavily on Rough Trade's ladies) … "Yang yang" (a オノ・ヨーコ cover apparently) is off Anika's self-titled debut lp on Stone's Throw (tbr 2010-12) as produced by Geoff Barrow of Beak and Portishead fame.
