pockabilly on & slide with it


Max Décharné‘s A rocket in my pocketguide to rockabilly had already been published some three months ago (Serpent’s Tail ISBN 9781846687211, 2010-06-24), and now, after some postponin’ & delayin’, the accompanying cd has just been released (Ace CDCHD 1258, 2010-09). It’s a superb addition to Rhino‘s Rockin’ Bones (1950s Punk & Rockabilly)” 4cd box (R2 73346, 2006-06-27). (And what a mess Rhino‘s site policy is! It’s almost as disastrous as EMI‘s / Blue Note‘s!)

Tiny Bradshaw‘s The train kept a-rollin’has often been covered, most famously by the Yardbirds as Stroll onfor the soundtrack of Michelangelo Antonioni‘s Blowup (1966). Anyhoo, for more info on the artists selected here:
