hound dog smells a rat

The original of James Brown’s famousThinkcover, and four more slices of exquisite rhythm and blues (1957, 1956, 195?, 1958, 1953) … off a superb compilation on Trikont (cat. no. US-0412, 2010). I Smell A Rat, Early Black Rock ‘n Roll #2, 1949-1959has got one serious flaw, though: there’s no thorough listing of the tracks with author credits, recording & release dates, etc. To me, compiler Jonathan Fischer could have done some more research, e.g. on the date of Robert Lockwood‘s “Dig myself a hole”. (Suggestions, anyone?) Equally annoying is Trikont’s site in English: http://www.trikont.com/ isn’t up to date and doesn’t lead to this compilation, nor to volume one. Finally, here’s the correct link to Andy Gill’s review, and the link to our reissue code ;-)
